Print Art is very excited announce our new forum of bringing all our amazing creative clients together to meet up and chat about what they do.  To connect, share and socialise with other like minded people who share their passion.  These “Creative Open Mic” sessions will take place on First Thursday of every month, starting in December.

Whether you are an artist or a photographer, we would like to invite you to our first session:
Thursday 12 March 2020
Time:  6.30 pm
Venue:  Print Art, 8 Unity Drive South, Rosedale, Auckland.

We have invited Ilan Wittenberg FNZIPP, photographer, to talk about the process of putting together a body of work, from genesis to exhibition.

Ilan, a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography, was Auckland Photographer of the Year in 2015, 2016 and 2018; was 2016 TRAVCOM Travel Photographer of the Year as well as Grand Prize Winner of the 2018 Sony Alpha Awards.

Ilan has had a few huge projects over the last few years.  During 2015, Ilan documented people in the Old City of Jerusalem which enabled him to produce a compelling portfolio of monochrome photographs. ‘Faces of Jerusalem’ was  exhibited at Te Uru Waitakere Contemporary Gallery in early 2016.

Commencing in 2014, ‘Bare Truth’ is a captivating collection of portraits of New Zealand men who are humble, courageous and vulnerable.  The ‘Bare Truth’ portfolio was chosen to be exhibited at the 2016 Head On Photo Festival in Sydney as well as the Signature Programme of the 2016 Auckland Festival of Photography.

His current project, ‘From here to Africa – The Maasai People’ is a collection of captivating portraits of the Maasai people from Tanzania.  The exhibition opens tomorrow night, 28 February.

Venue:  Malcolm Smith Gallery, Uxbridge Arts and Culture centre.

Dates: Feb 28 – April 24

Open hours: Fri-Mon 10:00-16:00, Tue-Thu 10:00-21:00
Admission is free

So, keep Thursday 12 March free and join us for a very social evening with some snacks and drinks, good conversation, and meet other artists.  We would love to see you here!!
