We know which we’d choose and we thought we’d share some of the festive happenings and markets around New Zealand so that you can head out and appreciate the quality of artisan goods. Our artists all over New Zealand have been working hard to create unique and quirky choices for you. Enjoy!
In Northland
Te Waimate Mission invites visitors to step back in time and enjoy a vintage-style Kirihimete every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout December. The historic house will be beautifully dressed for the season, with outdoor games and children’s activities available. Families can make vintage decorations, create Christmas cards, try any of the three themed ‘missions’, and post a letter to Father Christmas in the special mailbox. Picnics on the lawn are encouraged, with garden access free for all. On Saturday 13 December, Claire from Flash Gordon Photography will offer vintage portraits beside the Christmas tree. Taking place on Sunday, December 21st, anyone and everyone is invited to head to the Caledonian Park, Waipu, from 12pm – 6pm for a Christmas Market.
With over 170 stalls, plenty of food, awesome entertainment – this is your chance to buy those last-minute Christmas Presents! Crafts, fashion, jewellery, homeware, outdoor furniture, plants, clothing, produce, sweet treats, board games and more on offer! A few themed activities on the day, including opportunities to take some photos with Santa Claus and The Grinch, a wishing well to send your letters to Santa, and Gift Wrapping Services. And if you haven’t managed to grab one yet, St John’s will be there selling real Christmas Trees. A perfect way to end the day after spending the morning at the beach!

Matakana Christmas Markets
Christmas cheer is in the air, it’s pure holiday magic. Immerse yourself in the magic of the season at both Matakana`s Christmas Markets!
The night market will be hosting popular food trucks, cold drinks, stalls with Christmas gifts and live entertainment.
