Cosmos In Your Hood - Outdoor

The ‘cosmic’ in midst of the ‘ordinary’. Large prints of deep space & wide-field astrophotography by photographer Rohit Vig will be visible at venues across Point Chevalier & at Mt Albert Library in weeks leading up to Matariki day.
This exhibition is an encouragement to connect with the night sky like our ancestors did, to let in its beauty and to sustain it for future generations.
As most  of us now live in midst of light pollution that increasingly obscures our view of the night Rohit will show you distant galaxies, nebulae, planets, star constellations, night landscapes – many shot from Rohit’s inner city backyard using telescopes & everyday lenses.
Rohit will also run a free public workshop on “Stargazing from your backyard” at Mt Albert Library on Saturday 14th June at 2pm.
Cosmos In Your Hood | 20 May to 20 June
