April Update – Getting Inspired By Autumn Colours

Framing At Print Art

As Autumn officially settles in, now is the time to make those inside walls pop! There is nothing better than adding a new beautifully framed artwork to the mix to keep your inside spaces vibrant and alive during the colder months. Print Art is here to assist you with not only your printing but also taking your artwork to that finished level. We offer you a classic picture framing service as well as stretching followed by tray framing for your canvases.

Our picture framing service is designed to provide a professional and aesthetically pleasing finish to your artwork. We offer a carefully curated range of moulding sizes and finishes, including classic black, white, and selected colour options that complement any style of art. Each frame is constructed with precision to enhance and protect your artwork.

Our frames are ideal for personal collections, gallery exhibitions, and gifts, adding a touch of elegance and professionalism to your artwork. Whether you’re framing a delicate watercolor, a striking photograph, or a bold mixed-media piece, our team ensures that your work is preserved and beautifully presented.

We do picture framing with two options of glass. Upgrade your framing with AR70 Art Glass. This museum-quality glass protects your art from harmful UV rays while ensuring that nothing distracts from the beauty of your piece. Each frame is crafted to showcase your artwork with elegance and durability.

For artists working with canvas prints, we stretch your canvas over high-quality kiln-dried timber frames, which are designed to resist warping, bowing, or buckling over time. This process ensures that your canvas is taut, flat, and durable.

Our tray frames are designed to add a contemporary, minimalist touch to your canvas prints. These frames create a floating effect by leaving a small gap between the canvas and the frame, giving the artwork a subtle yet impactful border. Available in black, white, and other select colours, tray frames enhance the depth and dimension of your artwork without overpowering it. They are ideal for both modern and traditional artwork, providing a sleek, gallery-style presentation. Each tray frame is custom-made to fit your canvas perfectly, ensuring a flawless fit and finish. This type of frame is especially popular with photographers and artists who want to give their work a modern edge.

Needing Autumn Inspiration?

Autumn with its array of colours can be a wonderful time to get out and about and be inspired …and April is the top pick of Autumn months. So where will Autumn take you to be inspired in 2025? In the South Island colour features prominently so here is our choice of five destinations to seek out and enjoy.
But do let us know where you go for your Autumn Buzz!!
Mackenzie Country : From Tekapo to Lake Pukaki and further on to Twizel and Omarama is a good region to visit for colourful leaf peeping in Autumn.
Waitaki Valley : This is also an area with lakes surrounded by yellow trees. These lakes include Lake Benmore and Lake Aviemore and with roads around the lakes you are enabled good views of fall foliage. If the weather is clear keep an eye out for views of Mount Cook.
Wanaka & Cardrona Valley : Poplars  are here, there and everywhere in Central Otago and shores of Lake Wanaka in particular, especially near Roys Bay. The drive down the Cardrona Valley, around Glendhu Bay and along the Matukituki River will also reveal superb autumnal colours.
Arrowtown & Queenstown : The trees in Arrowtown are a feast for the eyes and senses in autumn. The hillsides tend to get ablazed with autumn colors….and of course Arrowtown has its Autumn Festival towards the end of April. Fall foliage is also good around Lake Hayes, and a lakeside walk in Queenstown is a joy in autumn.
Central Otago from lake Dunstan to Roxburgh : Starting from Lake Dunstan all the way down to Alexandra and Roxburgh, you’ll find good patches of colorful fall foliage and colourful leaf peeping! Driving to the Clyde Dam Lookout on the hill where you can look down upon Clyde and Alexandra gives a nice overview of the abundance of autumn colors in this area.

So if you are feeling chilly and need some warm colours to set your heart ablaze….pop on a warm jacket and head South!
