We are thrilled to announce that one of Print Art’s extended family took a big win!! Gordon Pembridge‘s oil painting “Antithesis”, featuring a Sacred Kingfisher, has been selected for the cover of this year’s Artists for Conservation Exhibit book.
Artists for Conservation (AFC) is the world’s leading group of artists supporting the environment. This non-profit organization comprises a membership of 500 of the world’s most gifted nature artists from over 30 countries, across five continents. A three pronged approach of Art & Environmental Education; Field Work & Research; and Artist Development supports AFC’s vision to lead a global artistic movement that inspires individuals and organizations to preserve and sustain our natural heritage by uniting the talent and passion of the world’s most gifted nature artists. Their annual hardcover “coffee-table” book is published on sustainably forested paper, as a companion to the annual exhibit. The 240-page tribute to AFC’s global pool of artist talent features artwork juried into the world’s top conservation-themed exhibition showing in Vancouver, BC from September 24-27. This exhibition is also part of the Artists for Conservation Festival, as well as a broader online virtual show.
Another Print Art Family Win
Judy Stokes was thrilled to be one of the three finalists in the Animal Category in the recent NZIPP Iris awards. As her first outing in the Iris awards Judy was amazed to get a Gold, Silver and Bronze award for her three entries.This image of the NZ Ruru was taken while pruning a pohutakawa tree. A Ruru suddenly appeared and sat stubbornly as if to say…”That’s enough pruning thankyou!!” Always being one to listen to nature Judy ended up with a lopsided tree and was rewarded by a portrait session with the ruru!
Enter The Taranaki Art Awards
Celebrating its 24th year in 2026, The Taranaki National Art Awards, an annual event, is a national visual art award offering over $10,000 in awards and an opportunity for artists to exhibit and sell their artwork. Open to all artists in New Zealand artworks are presented and judged in seven sponsored categories:

- – Taranaki Artists
- – 3D
- – Works on Paper
- – Fibre Art
- – Tō Taranakitanga
- – Photography
The entry fee is $30 per artwork, with a maximum of one entry per category and up to three categories per artist.
All artworks that meet the guidelines will be displayed during the exhibition, which runs from Saturday, October 31 to Sunday, November 8, at the Events Center, Ōpunakē.

The Walker & Hall Waiheke Art Award 2026 is an open national competition for two-dimensional works in any medium, hosted by the Waiheke Community Art Gallery open to all New Zealand residents.

Michael Evans Award: $1,000 (for a figurative work)
Church Bay People’s Choice Award: $1,500
Gordon Harris Award: $500 voucher

Overload Art Competition
Overload is celebrating its 20th Anniversary! For two decades, the convention has been shaped by the creativity, passion, and imagination of the community. To celebrate, you are invited to take part in a special anniversary art competition.
Challenge : Create a pair of original anime-inspired ambassador characters, joined by Overload mascot Nindoro as their loyal companion. Draw from one or more genres, and let your imagination run free – it’s all in your hands!
Open to all ages and skill levels, all qualifying entries will be showcased during the Overload convention. The winning ambassador characters may also be featured as part of Overload 2027 promotional artwork!
