A Sure Way To Boost Your Revenue

How one calendar added an extra $4k to an artist’s Christmas sales
Lucy Melville is a New Zealand artist and art business coach who turned a single calendar into an extra $4,000 in profit, sold entirely through her own audience. No gallery, no wholesale deal, just a repeatable process she’s used every year since. Now she’s turned that exact process into a course any artist can follow, from a blank idea to a calendar that’s actually ready to sell.
Within the course ‘Gift Worthy Calendars’ ($19usd – approx $32nzd), Lucy walks you through the whole process: planning your timeline, getting your images print-ready, choosing a printer, pricing for real profit, and creating a sales plan that sets you up for success once it’s made. If you’d rather skip the design work entirely, there’s an optional template pack including two ready-made Canva templates based on Lucy’s design with step-by-step tutorials, so your calendar can be print-ready in an afternoon.
The gap isn’t your art. It’s knowing the process, and Lucy’s handing you hers right here. Click on the link below to access it!

Support Our Artist

Sue Lockett, one of our Art Collective artists, is a nature artist inspired by the subtle patterns and rhythms of the natural world, from coastlines and skies to land, plants, and birds. Working in acrylics, she creates representational paintings that explore a sense of place, belonging, and quiet connection. Sue is drawn to nature’s quieter moments: clouds reflecting in water, windswept trees clinging to cliffs, and the quiet strength of native plants. Through her work, she explores how we connect with our environment, and how emotion, memory, and belonging become woven into the landscape over time.

Each piece I make is an invitation to pause, reflect, and find a sense of hope and inspiration in the beauty of the natural world.

Take time out to see some of Sue’s latest work at the exhibition below:

Keeping Up With The Times

At Print Art, we are continually investing in better ways to manage our studio and deliver the quality, service and reliability our customers expect.
We have recently implemented a new studio management system that gives us a more accurate understanding of the costs involved in producing each of our products and services. This has allowed us to review our pricing using a more consistent and detailed set of costing rules. At the same time, we have experienced increases in a number of our input and operating costs.
As a result, we have made adjustments to our pricing. We have worked carefully to ensure these changes are  fair, consistent and reflect the true cost of delivering the high-quality printing, imaging, framing and production services that Print Art is known for. This investment in better systems and processes will also help us continue to improve our services and build a sustainable business for the future. The new pricing is now in effect. If you have any questions about how these changes may affect the products or services you use, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you for your continued support and for choosing Print Art.

Residency Opportunity

Farnham World Craft Town is offering a residency, of 4-6 weeks, in Farnham, Surrey, UK during Spring 2027. Here at England’s first World Craft Town, they are committed to supporting artists and makers through a series of residencies over the next three years. Each of the artists in residence will be asked to create a piece inspired by Farnham, which will form part of the local craft collection. The Residency will be based at the Farnham School of Furniture Making, one of the UK’s most respected centres for furniture education, with a long tradition of excellence in hand skills and design.   After a structured programme of introductions we give the artist space to develop their own ideas and start creating a body of work. We encourage a collaborative approach, working with local makers and local materials where possible, including interaction with the local community, on social media and with the student body in Farnham.

THE RESIDENCY OFFERS:

  • Fully covered travel costs
    ● Living costs
    ● Contribution to materials
    ● Free studio space and accommodation
    ● An opportunity to exhibit a new body of work created during the residency

Priority this year will be given to artists working in wood and furniture making. Proposals from creatives at all stages of their development are accepted, particularly people who want to experiment and innovate. Relevant specialisms within wood and furniture making include: cabinet making, hand-cut joinery, marquetry & inlay, wood turning, wood carving, green woodworking, coopering, and work with sustainable or reclaimed timber. We welcome applications from makers working across all of these disciplines and many more.

Deadline for applications 17.00 GMT Friday 2nd October 2026

Call For Tokyo Biennale

The open call for Tokyo Biennale 2027 is now open to applicants from Japan and around the world! Artists and curators are invited to propose projects that will be presented as part of Tokyo Biennale 2027.
The theme of Tokyo Biennale 2027: “From ‘Me’ to ‘Us’.”
Today, the world is in an age of conflict and division.
To avoid repeating the memories of war, violence, and exclusion, we must reexamine the wisdom and cultural resources that have been passed down across generations.
One single “me” may not be able to change the past, or overcome the anxieties and divisions of the world. Yet when “me” encounters others and reconnects relationships, a new consciousness of “us” begins to emerge. It is there that the possibility of living anew can be found.
Art projects engage with society as a form of cultural prescription, reconnecting people with people, people with places, and people with memories. When individual creativity and the creativity accumulated within the city resonate across time, a new creativity of “us” is born.
Tokyo Biennale 2027 will open up the foundational cultures that lie within Tokyo, passing memories of the past on to the future, and becoming a place of practice for living anew not as “me,” but as “us,” in an age of division..
Applications close September 30, 2026 (Wed), 11:59 PM (JST)
